Lisa Bickmore Featured by Utah Arts Coalition

Each month a coalition of arts organizations features a poet at “Now Playing Utah” online. This honor includes a short video clip of the artist reciting a short poem, and this month the so-called “Bite Size Poet for May” (presumably in reference to the length of the presentation rather than the poet’s stature) is Lisa Bickmore.

Bickmore can be seen reciting her poem, “Dog Aria,” about her dachshund Sigmund (who swims among the flowers in her yard) at Artist Detail (once there, click on “video & images”). For further examples of her poetry, see our free online version of her book Haste.

The website is sponsored by the Utah Arts Council; Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts, & Parks Program; and the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau. The site allows people to see at a glance which events are scheduled in Utah in the areas of dance, film, history, museum exhibits, music, sports, theater, visual arts, and special events.
