Kenneth L. Cannon

Kenneth L. Cannon received undergraduate and graduate degrees in history from Brigham Young University, and later attended University of Helsinki as a Fulbright Scholar. Cannon returned to Provo for law school, and later served as chair of BYU’s National Advisory Council for the College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences. Cannon practices corporate bankruptcy law in addition to his work as an adjunct professor at BYU and the University of Utah. 

Cannon’s legal career includes serving as a fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy, and the legal community recently named him Utah Bankruptcy Lawyer of the Year. He is published in several legal and professional journals, including BYU Studies, BYU Law Review, and the Federal Bar Journal.

In the realm of Mormon and Utah historical studies, Cannon has served on the boards of the Mormon History Association, the Utah Heritage Foundation, and the Utah Historical Quarterly. He is the recipient of writing awards from the Mormon History Association and the Utah State Historical Society.
